Honeymoon Beach is a great place to relax around baby powder-like sand, light blue water, sunlight but not crowds. Park in the public parking area of the Caneel Resort for a smooth walking path down to the beach. Taking this trail gives you the oppurtunity to stop for lunch or a drink at the bar/grill along the way. The beach is safe, as tourists have noted that beach shoes are unnecessary in the water. Honeymoon Beach is known as the nicest looking beach on St. Johns, and one of the best snorkeling spots, full of underwater life to see. Snorkelers are known to have seen large turtles just off shore. A reef area on the west is protected by swim buoys, allowing it to be the favorite destination of day charter boats which arrive in late morning and depart by mid-afternoon. On the beach, facilities and shade are limited with just garbage cans and two portable toilets, and a large maho tree near the center of the beach, so prepare ahead of time. Arriving by boat is a possibility, but if walking doesn't bother you, you'll catch the experience of the unspoiled interior of St. John on your way to Honeymoon Beach.
